Alpina B8 Gran Coupé pops up around the Nürburgring

Alpina is working on its own variant of the BMW 8 series. The B8, as that car will go through life, has now been spotted in person.

It takes a look twice, but here is no ordinary BMW M8 Gran Coupé in the photos. The (now black) special wheels, which already clearly resemble the footwear of other Alpina’s, the license plate and the camouflage on the bumpers betray that a different party has been working on this than BMW itself. The Buchloe-based tuner is purportingly completing testing of its B8 both on and off the Nürburgring.

As usual, we can expect a solidly modified BMW from Alpina that takes a very sporty, yet stylish approach. On this prototype we still see chrome on the grille and you can bet that it will remain. No black accents, just chic sporty. And it will be sporty. In the corridors, people speak of the use of the 4.4-liter biturbo V8 like Alpina who spooned in the XB7. An up to 621 hp and 800 Nm tickled variant that is in fact also used for the M8 (Competition). Although the M8 Competition makes it up to 4 hp more, you probably don’t have to be ashamed of the performance figures with the Alpina B8. 0-100 km / h should be over in about 4 seconds and you can count on the counter not stopping at 300 km / h. Incidentally, in addition to this B8 Gran Coupé, reportedly no B8 Coupé or Cabrio are on the schedule. We will know more soon!
