€388 per horsepower
In October 2022, Alpine added a new top-of-the-line version to the A110 delivery range. We were introduced to the Alpine A110 R, a lighter and extra sporty attired variant of which AutoWeek can tell you the price before Alpine announces it itself.
The Alpine A110 R has a starting price of €116,290 in the Netherlands. This makes it by far the most expensive variant that you can order. The Alpine A110 is already available from €71,990.
Fair is fair: the entry-level Alpine with its 252 hp 1.8 turbo engine is significantly less potent than the GT and S flavors that squeeze 300 hp from the same four-cylinder. The Alpine A110 GT costs €82,090, the A110 S €86,290. The top model A110 R delivers 300 hp and 340 Nm, just like the GT and S versions. It also has a seven-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. It is lighter though.
Various body parts of the Alpine A110 R are made of carbon fiber to reduce the car weight by 34 kilos compared to the A110 S. The front cover, wheels and hood are made of the lightweight material. Even the rear window has been replaced with a carbon fiber panel. The result: a car weight of 1,082 kilos. In addition, Alpine hangs the A110 R full of spoilers, edges and tabs that increase downforce and reduce air resistance. On the back is a hefty spoiler with a so-called gooseneck as you know it from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Alpine gives the A110 R, among other things, active aerodynamics, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slicks, extra potent braking from Brembo, a tighter tuned chassis and a modified exhaust system. In the interior you will find, among other things, lightweight bucket seats with six-point belts and even pull loops instead of regular handles in the door panels. The whole thing is further decorated with microfiber.
Here you can read everything about the Alpine A110 R.
