On to next year

The 24 Hours of Le Mans takes place this weekend and Alpine is taking the opportunity to present its LMDh prototype. He just has to wait a little longer before he can actually participate in the race.
As all teams prepare for next weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, Alpine is already presenting its new battle weapon for next year; the A424 Beta. That ‘Beta’ indicates that it is not quite the final version yet, but it already gives a clear impression of what next year’s LMDh car will look like.
Unlike the A480 with which Alpine previously competed in the WEC, the A424 has a body designed largely by Alpine itself. Thus, influences of the Alpenglow can be seen. We see a special detail at the back. The taillights of the Alpine A424 are essentially glow-in-the-dark Alpine logos. The basis was not developed by Alpine, but by Oreca.
Of course there are fixed regulations that Alpine must adhere to. It is a hybrid that can use a maximum system power of 680 hp. In the case of the A424, a 675 hp 3.4-litre V6 works together with an electric motor on the rear axle that is common to all LMDh cars. At a later stage, Alpine will reveal the definitive A424 and we will undoubtedly find out more.
