You have probably heard of the British brand Alvis, but did you know that it still (or exists) again? The latest creation is another one from the ‘Continuation Series’: the Graber Super Coupé.

Although the old Alvis died in 1967, Alvis was revived at the beginning of the last decade. It would rebuild old models, according to original construction drawings and methods. It started with the Vanden Plas Tourer (photo 8), followed by the Bertelli Sport Coupe (photo 9), Lancefield Concealed Hood (photo 10) and Park Ward Drop Head Coupe (photos 11 and 12). Now Alvis has the first copy of the Graber Super Coupé ready.

The Graber Super Coupé is a special one, because it is a coupé based on the Alvis TE 21 as it was created in the 1960s by the Swiss coachbuilder Hermann Graber. The original Graber-built TE21s are extremely rare, of which only seven are known to have been built. Only more than 300 cars of the entire TE21 series were built by Alvis. So something very special, now completely new.

Alvis Graber Super Coupe

Alvis took leftover original chassis and engines as the basis for the Graber Super Coupé and then built an entire car around it as true to history as possible. The brand new Graber Super Coupé has a mostly aluminum body and the 3.0-litre in-line six is more modern than the original. That is to say: it has been given a modern injection system. As a result, the power is now 174 hp, almost 42 hp more than originally. Both the chassis number and the engine number pick up where they left off with the original cars.

It is clear that this almost completely hand-built Alvis is something special. At least five are being made and Alvis is also working on an open version. Whoever becomes greedy may conjure up a large bag of money. Alvis wants to receive no less than €378,600 for a Graber Super Coupé.
