Apple comes with a Vision Air – this is what you can expect from it

New rumors about the successor of the Vision Pro appear and it seems that the new headset will be called De Vision Air.

Apple comes with a Vision Air

We wrote earlier that Apple is working on a cheaper version of the Vision Pro. The company is said to have started the development of a cheaper vision in 2022, under the codename ‘N109’. This model must be about as expensive as a high-end iPhone. The iPhone 16 Pro Max currently costs € 1,229, so that gives an indication.

The newest rumor about the successor of the Vision Pro comes from X user Kosutami:

There are a few things in his post:

  • He calls the device thin, which may indicate an interesting hardware new.
  • Titanium is not only used for the headset, but also for the connectors and the battery.
  • A graphite dark blue color.
  • A hint to the name ‘Air’.

Also aluminum

In a follow-up message, Kosutami clarifies that the Vision Air will still have aluminum for a large part of the outside, in a midnight-like color. Titanium mainly helps with the internal parts to reduce the weight of the device.

Kosutami also gave a glimpse of the new connector for the Vision Air, which is clearly a bit wider than a standard Lightning connector.

The rumors of Kosutami follow on one Message from Mark Gurman Van Bloomberg last weekend. In it he said that Apple is developing two new Vision headsets. One becomes significantly lighter and cheaper, the other must be connected to a Mac.

Initially, Apple aimed to release the cheaper vision in 2024. However, there were problems finding ways to lower the costs of the model without sacrificing too many functions. The release date was then shifted to the end of 2025, but now we expect the Vision Air only in 2026.
