Apple has released a new version of the Invitations app and it includes a very useful new feature – here’s what you need to know about it.
This is new in the Invitations app
Apple launched the Invitations app on February 4, 2025. It is an app that allows you to create your own invitation for a special occasion. In the app you can send your own invitations directly, you can respond to a received invitation, put your own images in a Shared album and listen to Apple Music playlists.
Apple has already made improvements to the Invitations app in recent weeks, with the upcoming holidays in mind. New festive backgrounds have been added and there is now a widget with which you can count down to Christmas or New Year.
The app has now received another update from Apple, with bug fixes and performance improvements. But a useful new feature has also been added. There is now an option that allows guests to indicate how many adults and children they will bring to an event. This way, the host will never be faced with surprises again if someone brings extra people to the party!

You need an iCloud+ subscription
Inviting people to events is easy with the Apple Invitations app. First, you create an invitation to the event, with a description, a custom background, and even a shared photo album. You then generate a link to the event that you can share with the people you want to invite.
Creating an event in the app requires an iCloud+ subscription, but anyone who receives the link can RSVP for free. An iCloud+ subscription costs
€0.99 per month for 50 GB, €2.99 per month for 200 GB and €9.99 per month for 2 TB.
Apple Invitations is available on the iPhone and also on the web at www.icloud.com/invites. Guests can comment in the iPhone app or via the web from any device.
