Some Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra users are experiencing an issue with the microphone. It stops responding to commands after some time, causing certain apps to crash. Apple is aware and working on a fix.
Problem with microphone new Apple Watches
When you buy a brand new Apple Watch, you can expect it to work flawlessly. Still, the proud owners of an Apple Watch Series 8 or Apple Watch Ultra are experiencing microphone issues. After that time, it stops responding to anything, making it impossible to use Siri or make a phone call. Apps that rely on the microphone would even crash.
MacRumors holds a memo from Apple acknowledging the issue. Restarting the Apple Watch would temporarily fix the problem. That indicates that the problem is not with the hardware. It is likely that Apple will soon release a software update that will permanently solve the microphone problems.
It’s not the first time we’ve heard about problems with the Apple Watch Ultra. The very expensive sports watch also suffers from ‘jelly scrolling’. Some users notice while scrolling (for example through their notifications) that one half of the screen shifts faster than the other. Apple has not yet responded to the affair.
