Apple is releasing a series of updates tonight, allowing many devices to update to a new software version. These devices are what it’s all about!
Apple releases updates
Keep a close eye on your Apple devices today as the company is releasing another batch of updates tonight. No fewer than six new software versions will be available, allowing you to update almost all Apple devices. This concerns iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, watchOS 11.3, macOS 15.3, tvOS 18.3 and visionOS 2.3. So you can update your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac(Book) and Apple TV today.
The Apple Vision Pro is still not officially for sale in the Netherlands and Belgium, but a new software version for the spatial computer will also be released tonight. The updates for the Apple TV and Mac(Book) bring few new features to the devices, mainly because Apple Intelligence is not yet available here. Apple is mainly focusing on fixing software problems with tvOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3.
Changes on the iPhone and iPad
With iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3, Apple mainly brings small changes to the iPhone and iPad. This gives the calculator a useful function that Apple had removed in an earlier version of iOS 18. From iOS 18.3 it is again possible to use answers directly in the next calculation, without having to enter the number again. This feature is also coming to the calculator on the iPad with iPadOS 18.3.
Other changes are mainly rumored to resolve software issues. Since iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, the keyboard regularly disappeared when entering a Siri command. Apple has fixed that problem in upcoming updates. The same goes for an annoying bug in Apple Music where music from the app continued to play after the app was closed. This is no longer the case in iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3.
Release of all Apple updates
Apple is expected to bring a new wallpaper and watch face to the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch with tonight’s updates. January is all about Black History Monthfor which Apple often releases new wallpapers and Apple Watch bands. We will probably see this for the first time tonight in iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3 and watchOS 11.3. The matching watch strap will probably appear later this week.
Apple usually releases updates in the evening. We’ll likely see iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, watchOS 11.3, macOS 15.3, tvOS 18.3, and visionOS 2.3 tonight at 7:00 PM Dutch time.
