We now know that a lighter, cheaper Apple Vision ‘Air’ is coming and, according to a new report, perhaps even at the end of this year.
Vision Air may come this year
According to a new message from Mark Gurman van Bloomberg, Apple is coming this year with a Vision Air – a lighter and cheaper version of the Vision Pro. We wrote earlier that Apple is working on that. The company is said to have started the development of a cheaper vision in 2022, under the codename ‘N109’. This model must be about as expensive as a high-end iPhone. The iPhone 16 Pro Max currently costs € 1,228, so that gives an indication.
Gurman says in his’Power On‘Newsletter the following about:
“I reported earlier this month that Apple is full steam ahead on two new successors to the Vision Pro: a lighter version at a cheaper price point and a Mac-tethered model aimed at applications that need maximum responsiveness. All signs point to the lighter model arriving between the end of this year and the first half of 2026. Despite the First Version Selling Poorly, The Company Isn’t Abandoning Ship Here.
“Earlier this month I already reported that Apple is fully engaged in two new successors from the Vision Pro: a lighter version for a lower price and a model that you connect to a Mac and that is focused on programs that require a maximum reaction speed. Everything indicates that the lighter model will appear poorly and the first half of the first version is not the company. is whether the lighter version can be seen as a replacement for the Vision Pro or as a cheaper alternative. ”
From this we can conclude that Apple is determined to release a new Vision device as quickly as possible.

Remarkably fast
It has not been that long since the first reports about a new Vision product appeared. That is why it is quite remarkable that the Vision Air may be launched this year, or at the beginning of 2026. Apple will in any case immediately resolve two of the biggest problems of the Vision Pro: the weight and the price.
But the biggest problem of Vision devices continues to exist and that is that they have no convincing new functions to offer. You can’t really do anything new with it. You can only do things with it that you can do with other Apple devices, only in a completely new way. Given the sales figures of the Apple Vision Pro, people do not have thousands of euros for that. Whether they are tacking for a cheaper Vision Air is still to be seen.
Initially, Apple strived to release the cheaper Vision Air in 2024. However, there were problems finding ways to lower the costs of the model without sacrificing too many functions. We now expect the Vision Air at the end of this year or early 2026.
