The announcement of Apple’s highly anticipated AR/VR headset may be very close. There are indications that Apple will be showing the device to the world next week at the WWDC developer conference.
Apple’s AR/VR headset may be announced soon
At the WWDC 2022 developer conference, which takes place from June 6 to 10, we may get a glimpse into the future. Apple may then be planning the announcement of its highly anticipated AR/VR headset.
Last year, the name of the operating system of the smart glasses emerged: realityOS. Designer Parker Ortolani came across this trademark again with a very special date: it was to be registered internationally on June 8th. That’s during Apple’s conference and just two days after the event’s main keynote.
That is not to say that Apple will actually officially launch the headset during the conference. Apple can also only reveal that such glasses are being worked on. Another possibility is that the company already shows realityOS to the developers present.
Even if Apple does officially announce the glasses, it will probably not be in the store a week later. Rumor has it that there are still many issues with the device such as overheating and software bugs.
This is what we expect from Apple’s AR/VR headset
Apple’s AR/VR headset will likely come with an astronomical price tag. It is an extremely advanced device. It is rumored to have an “innovative display configuration”, consisting of two micro-OLED screens and fifteen camera modules. Furthermore, the headset can follow your eyes and supports various hand gestures.
Furthermore, the glasses have a computing power that is comparable to that of the M1 processor of the MacBook Air. Switching between VR and AR would therefore be seamless. At a later stage, Apple would also like to release cheaper VR and AR devices.
