‘Apple Pencil Pro’ spotted on Apple’s website

An Apple Pencil Pro has appeared in the source code of Apple’s website in Japan. Will this be the new Pencil?

Just before the Apple event ‘Let Loose’, information emerged about an ‘Apple Pencil Pro’. Screenshots were shared on Twitter showing the name in the source code of Apple’s website in Japan.

It would be striking if Apple chooses this Apple Pencil Pro name. Since the previous pens are only called Apple Pencil (with a small addition in brackets). There is no trace of the Apple Pencil Pro in the source code of Apple’s website in other countries. So it could just be an error in the translation made by the Japanese website.

New Apple Pencil during event

Still, there is a good chance that Apple will show a new Apple Pencil during the Let Loose event. Several rumors say that Apple plans to introduce a new “squeeze” gesture with the next Pencil. As the name suggests, you activate this function by squeezing the Apple Pencil.

In addition, it is expected that the Apple Pencil Pro or Apple Pencil 3 will receive haptic feedback. This means that the Pencil will soon be able to feel a small vibration. There may also be support for the Apple Vision Pro, Find My and (if we can believe the rumors) there will be interchangeable magnetic points.

The new Apple Pencil will probably replace the second generation pen (the Apple Pencil 2). This pen was released in 2018 and works on the iPad Pro 2018 to iPad Pro 2022, iPad Air 2020, iPad Air 2022 and iPad mini 2021.
