Apple Mac Studio release
If you wanted to buy a desktop from Apple in recent years, you had to rely on the Mac mini or the (more expensive) Mac Pro. The Mac mini received an update in 2020 with an M1 chip, which made the small desktop computer quite smooth. A new computer has now been added with the release of the Apple Mac Studio.
Before the Apple event, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple will be presenting a “Mac Studio” during the event. A YouTuber named Luke Miani had then rumored to show what this new Mac might look like.
Mac Studio: more than the Mac mini
At first glance, the Mac Studio most resembles an oversized Mac Mini. There is a difference and that is the height, because the Mac Studio is a lot thicker and somewhat resembles a kind of cube. As with the Mac Pro and the Mac mini, the Mac Studio still requires you to connect a screen, mouse, and keyboard to the computer.
The Mac Studio can be seen as a replacement for the high-end Mac mini and a kind of cheaper alternative to the Mac Pro. The Mac Studio is pretty fast and comes with an M1 Max or an M1 Ultra chip. The Ultra is a new and faster chip from the M1. According to Apple, the Ultra chip is up to 80 percent faster than the best Mac Pro.
He has the look of two Mac minis stacked on top of each other. The Mac Studio also has an SD card slot and two USB-C connections on the front. In addition, the Mac Studio comes with an internal storage (ssd) of up to 8 terabytes.
Studio Display: new screen from Apple
Apple has also released a new screen: Studio Display. The Studio Display has a 27-inch screen with slightly thicker bezels than the Pro Display XDR (Apple’s 32-inch Retina 6K display).
Furthermore, the screen has a resolution of 5K and a brightness of 600 nits. Inside the screen is an A13 chip (which you remember from the iPhone 11) and it has six built-in speakers. The Apple Studio Display costs $1599. Prices in euros will follow.
