According to a new rumor, Apple is working on several devices with a foldable screen. You need to know this.
An iPad with a 20.3-inch foldable screen
According to a report by analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities, Apple will begin mass production of a device with a 20.3-inch foldable screen at the end of 2025. This will probably be an iPad. This would also be followed by a foldable iPhone in 2026.
Rumors about devices with a foldable screen have been circulating for some time. For example, Ming-Chi Kuo previously reported that Apple is working on a foldable 20.3-inch MacBook that should be released sometime in 2027. Ross Young reported that Apple is developing a 20-inch foldable hybrid device, which should be released in 2026 or 2027. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg previously said that Apple is investigating a foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid with two screens.
A new line-up
If Pu’s report is to be believed, Apple has now further stepped up work on foldable devices. Pu says foldable screen devices will represent a new lineup for Apple aimed at the ultra high-end market. Apple is reportedly exploring two screen sizes for a foldable iPhone: 7.9-inch and 8.3-inch.
As mentioned, the new device with a 20.3-inch foldable screen will go into mass production at the end of 2025. However, the rumor has not been confirmed by other sources at this time. It is therefore good to take it with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, it’s fun to imagine what Apple devices with a foldable screen might look like.
