Summer vacation has officially begun — and while you’re probably only thinking about being off, Apple recently kicked off its annual Back to School promotion.
Apple Back to School 2022: Sprinkle Gift Cards
Are you following a course? Then you get a free gift card from Apple when you buy an iPad or Mac. This gift card has a maximum value of 150 euros, depending on the device you purchase. In previous years, students received a free set of AirPods with their new purchase. So Apple is changing things up a bit this year. A gift card is of course nice, because then you can immediately order free accessories for your new iPad or Mac.
The promotion is valid in the Netherlands, Belgium and a number of other European countries. You will only receive a free gift card if you are a (prospective) higher education student, but also parents, teachers, homeschoolers and other educational staff at all levels benefit from the promotion.
Do you choose a MacBook Air (M1 or M2 version), MacBook Pro (13 inch, 14 inch or 16 inch) or iMac (M1 version)? Then you will receive a gift card with a value of 150 euros† Would you rather have an iPad Air 2022 or iPad Pro 2021? In that case, Apple will give you a voucher worth 100 euro†
Not all Macs and iPads participate
Unfortunately, not all Apple computers and tablets are eligible for the promotion. Buyers of a Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro are unfortunately missing the point. The iPad mini and regular iPad are also not covered by the promotion. That’s a shame – the Mac Studio is currently Apple’s most powerful Mac, which is useful for film or graphic design students, for example. The iPad mini is also perfect for students with its handy size.
Although a gift card comes in handy in our view, the promotion ‘forces’ people to buy something from Apple again. Not everyone needs accessories or new AirPods, so that’s a shame. Unfortunately, there is no option to use the gift card immediately, so that you get a discount on your Mac or iPad.
