Anyone who is regularly on the A12 between Utrecht and The Hague should keep a close eye on it next week. From Monday 27 September to Thursday 7 October, the A12 between the Oudenrijn junction in Utrecht and Nieuwerbrug will be completely closed.
Rijkswaterstaat will carry out major maintenance on the A12 between the Oudenrijn junction near Utrecht and Nieuwerbrug from Monday evening. That part of the A12 will be closed from Monday evening at 21:00 and will not be accessible again until Thursday 7 October from 05:00. In addition, in the direction of The Hague, work is also taking place between Nieuwerbrug and Reeuwijk. The Nieuwerbrug ramp will remain open most of the time, although a limited number of lanes are available. The entrances and exits De Meern (15), Harmelen (14A), Woerden (14) and the Nieuwerbrug exit are therefore closed.
Over a distance of about 4.5 kilometers the asphalt is replaced by two layers of Zoab asphalt. In addition, joint transitions will be replaced and maintenance will not only be carried out on viaducts, but also on guide rails and verges. Rijkswaterstaat says that traffic from Oudenrijn is being diverted in both directions, talking about a delay of about an hour.
Here you will find advice routes which Rijkswaterstaat provides for traffic to The Hague and Rotterdam.
