Audi Q4 E-tron can already be viewed extensively

Audi shares an extensive series of photos of the Q4 E-tron. The body is still wrapped in a special camouflage print, but the interior of the fully electric Q4 E-tron is already fully visible.

It won’t be long before Audi unveils the Q4 E-tron, but the Germans have already done an extensive photo shoot with its youngest member. As with the E-tron GT, the special color scheme can hardly hide what the newcomer looks like. In that respect, Audi remains quite faithful to the Q4 E-tron Concept from 2019. However, the headlights are somewhat larger than on the study model and the front is also slightly more conservatively designed. It looks familiar from the rear. There we see many similarities with the concept car as well as with the E-tron and E-tron GT. The continuous LED bar that connects the rear lights has become the well-known trademark of the electrically powered Audis.

The Q4 E-tron stands on a variant of the Volkswagen Group’s modular MEB platform. Count on specifications that are reminiscent of those of the Volkswagen ID4 and Skoda Enyaq, so front-wheel and four-wheel drive versions with outputs of around 200 hp to 400 hp and action radii up to roughly 450 km respectively. Audi still keeps precise performance figures a secret, but it already shares the dimensions. The Q4 E-tron is 4.59 meters long, 1.86 meters wide and more than 1.61 meters high. This makes it, as its name suggests, just a bit smaller than the Q5 and just a bit bigger than the Q3. In the back of the Q4 E-tron, according to Audi, 520 liters of luggage space can be used with the seats up and the cover in use. If you fold the seats away and load up to the ceiling, you can use 1,490 liters of space. All in all, that is just a fraction less than in the Q3, undoubtedly because of the higher bottom due to the battery pack that lies there.

As far as Audi is concerned, the interior no longer needs to be a secret. That is already shown in full. Again, recognisability trumps. We mainly see the necessary influences from the A3, with the thick wide continuous ventilation grilles and the central part of the dashboard that is focused on the driver. It features a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, which will be optionally 11.6 inches at a later stage. Of course, Audi’s most recent version of the MMI system works on that, which works with a voice assistant, among other things, and also recognizes handwritten instructions.

Just below the central screen we see physical buttons for the operation of the climate control. Very user-friendly. You can choose the direction of travel with a selector lever placed in a floating panel, next to which is the start / stop button and a physical button for media control. Of course you can also operate many things on the steering wheel, only then you have to rely on optical ‘buttons’ with haptic feedback. Behind the steering wheel you will also find a standard 10.25-inch digital instrumentation. An optional head-up display provides the driver with further information. With augmented reality, navigation instructions, speed limits and enabled assistance systems are displayed ‘on the road’.

The unveiling of the Q4 E-tron is not long in coming. Incidentally, there will also be a Sportback version, which we also saw passing by. It will also come this year.
