If you were waiting for a new iPhone Mini so far, then this is the moment that we unfortunately have to disappoint you.
Unfortunately there will be no new iPhone Mini
Mark Gurman Van Bloomberg recently said in a live broadcast that unfortunately Apple currently has no plans to introduce a smaller iPhone model again. Apple stopped in September 2023 with the iPhone 13 Mini and has not released any new small iPhone since. We do not expect that Apple will release a small iPhone 17 this year and if we can believe Gurman’s statement, an iPhone 18 mini will probably be excluded next year.
Since Apple stopped the third generation of the iPhone SE last month, there are no new iPhone models with a screen size of less than 6 inches. All iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models that Apple is currently selling have a screen size from 6.1-inch to 6.9-inch. The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 Mini, on the other hand, had a screen of 5.4 inches. The last iPhone SE had a 4.7-inch display, but with thicker edges, making the device a lot bigger.
Although there are certainly people who would like to see Apple bringing the iPhone mini back, according to multiple market research agencies, the smaller model simply never sold well enough to let Apple continue with it. So it is not really a surprise that Apple is not reconsidering that decision at the moment. For everyone who still had hope for a new small iPhone, it is of course a disappointment. But it is better to have clarity than to keep hope wrong. So a new small iPhone model will no longer soon appear.
