The Wallet app for iPhone is not only a convenient place for your payment cards, but also an excellent tool for travelers. Apple offers extensive support for boarding passes, including smart features such as up-to-date flight information directly on your digital pass. This includes details of delays, gate changes and departure times.
In addition, the digital boarding pass contains useful links to airport maps, so you can easily find your way to the right gate or lounge. Thanks to this integration, your iPhone becomes an even more central travel companion: everything you need for your flight, from check-in to boarding, is clearly organized in one place.
Boarding passes with live flight information
Since iOS 26, the Wallet app has had a major improvement for anyone who flies regularly. Boarding passes are no longer displayed as static cards, but as interactive passes with live flight information. As soon as you add a boarding pass, Wallet automatically shows up-to-date information from the airline, such as delays, gate changes or changes in flight status. The new layout makes it much easier to see everything at a glance, without opening separate apps.

Availability and support
The smart boarding passes have been available since iOS 26 and are supported by most major US airlines, such as United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines. In addition, Air Canada, American Airlines, JetBlue, Jetstar, the Lufthansa Group (including Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian), Qantas and Virgin Australia will also support this technology. It is expected that other companies will join in 2026.
Smart integration with Live Activities
Thanks to the integration with Live Activities, your flight information also appears directly on the access screen and in Dynamic Island. This way you stay informed of updates without having to unlock your device. Consider notifications about boarding time, gate changes or the moment when the plane is ready for departure. The information is updated in real time, so that you always have the most current data.

Add boarding pass to Wallet
- Open your airline’s email or app with the boarding pass
- Tap ‘Add to Wallet’
- Confirm the addition
- The card will immediately appear in your Wallet app
- You will see updates automatically on the lock screen
More information while traveling
Apple has also paid attention to additional context. At supported airports, you can use your boarding pass to navigate directly to maps, cafes or shops near your gate. Some companies also show information about baggage, terminals or transfer times.

If desired, you can use a linked AirTag to track your luggage. In the event of loss, you can communicate directly with the airline via Wallet.
