The Camera app has received a new design in iOS 26 and it appears that some features are gone. Fortunately, that is not the case, because that is how you find them!
Camera on the iPhone has 4 hidden functions (this is how you find them)
If you have switched to iOS 26, it will take some getting used to. Apple has significantly changed the appearance of the operating system. The first thing you notice is of course the ‘glass’ appearance, which Apple calls Liquid Glass.
But some apps have also received a major makeover. One of them is the Camera app. When you open it for the first time, it looks a little different and tidier. And if you look at it a little longer, it even seems that Apple has removed some features. For example, the Portrait, Panorama and slow motion functions cannot be found immediately.
Yet Apple has only hidden these functions in the Camera app of iOS 26. Because if you swipe on the text ‘Video Photo’, you will see the familiar functions appear again. On the right you will find the photo functions Portrait, Spatial and Panorama. On the left are the video functions: Film, Slow Motion and Time Lapse. Depending on which iPhone you have, some features may not be available.
These are not the only functions that are a bit hidden in the Camera app on the iPhone. When you tap the six dots at the top right, the options for Live Photos and the Timer appear. Here you can switch these functions on or off.
iOS 26.1
Apple is of course not sitting still and in addition to the new design of the Camera app, iOS 26 is getting more and more new functions.
