Apple won’t present the iPhone 15 until next Tuesday, but you can already buy the first covers for the phone. Thanks to the new phone case, we know for sure that the housing of the iPhone 15 has the same dimensions as the iPhone 14. This is in line with previous rumors, which predict that the screen edges of the phone will become thinner.

The iPhone 15 will have a slightly larger screen, without having to adjust the housing. The case for the iPhone 15 also reveals a completely new function of the phone, because the action button can already be seen in the photos. This button is being introduced for the first time on the iPhone this year and the photos of the phone case now confirm that. This is what you need to know about the button.
New action button on the iPhone 15
Previous rumors already predicted it: the mutebutton is replaced by a multifunctional action button on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new button can now also be seen in the photos of the case for the iPhone 15. With the iPhone 15 you will soon be able to decide for yourself which action is performed when you press the button. A test version of iOS 17 previously revealed which functions you can choose from.
The cases for the iPhone 15 have a recess left for the new button. This also seems to confirm that the action button works with Haptic Touch. You can no longer physically press this new button, but instead works with vibration motors. We already know this way of pressing the home button on the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone SE 2022.
To press the button, you have to actually touch the action button with your finger. This is why a cutout has been made on the side of the iPhone 15 case. The photos of the phone case also confirm that the new iPhone will once again have two separate volume buttons. Previously there was talk of one large volume knob, but this plan has been definitively scrapped.
