The Central Bureau for Driving Certificates (CBR) is forced to cancel all theoretical and practical exams as of today. The decision is related to the development surrounding the coronavirus.
As of today, you can temporarily no longer approach CBR for theoretical and practical exams, interim tests, driving tests or other courses. The measure applies in any case until 31 March. Candidates and driving schools were informed of the decision yesterday. “All experts recommend having as few social contacts as possible. That is why I no longer think it is justified to pass exams, tests and courses. We hope to stem further spread of the virus,” says CEO Alexander Pechtold. .
According to the CBR, all exams can be passed at a later stage free of charge. For the time being, no new dates can be recorded, according to the CBR to prevent a run on exams after March 31. Employees of the CBR who work in the office and employees of the Driving Fitness department also continue to work at home, or spread across offices.
A few days earlier, the CBR already took additional measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus. For example, it asked candidates with complaints of a cold not to show up, they could make another appointment free of charge.
