According to rumors, Apple has started working on a cheap version of the Apple Vision Pro, but this version of the glasses has a disadvantage. This is what’s going on.
Cheap Apple Vision Pro is coming (but there’s a downside)
According to various rumors, Apple does not plan to immediately release the successor to the Apple Vision Pro. Instead, a cheap version of the Apple Vision Pro will come first.
According to usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, this cheap Apple Vision Pro has a narrower field of view compared to the regular version. That’s not a big deal, but Apple is considering another downgrade.
Several rumors say that this cheap Apple Vision Pro may need to be connected to an iPhone or a Mac. That’s a big difference with the regular Apple Vision Pro, which you can use without a Mac or iPhone.
According to Gurman, Apple wants to release the cheap Vision Pro sometime towards the end of 2025. That’s the plan anyway, but Apple is still looking for ways to reduce the cost of the glasses without giving up key features. Gurman also says that Apple is still working on the successor to the Apple Vision Pro.
Apple Vision Pro comes to Europe
The Apple Vision Pro was announced during the 2023 WWDC. The device has now been for sale in America for a while, but not yet in Europe. Fortunately, Apple said during WWDC 2024 that the Vision Pro is finally coming to Europe, including visionOS 2.
Unfortunately, Apple’s AR/VR glasses are still not coming to the Netherlands. But it has now been announced for sale in Germany. For Australia, Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro begin on Friday, June 28. The Vision Pro will be available in those countries from Friday, July 12.
