The HomePod mini and the HomePod 2023 have a few cool features. You can then check the temperature and humidity of your living room with the HomePod (mini).
The great thing about this is that it also allows you to ask Siri what the temperature is indoors. You can also use automation to automatically turn up your heating when it is too cold, for example.
If you have a HomePod mini or HomePod 2023, you can check the temperature in the following way.
Check temperature with the HomePod (mini)
- Open the Home app on your iPhone or iPad;
- Tap ‘Climate;
- The temperature and humidity can be read immediately.
What you need: iOS 16.3 and HomePod mini software 16.3
To check the temperature with your HomePod mini, your iPhone (or iPad) must be updated to iOS 16.3. You also need to have HomePod mini software version 16.3 installed.
At the moment, both software versions are still in beta, but everyone can get started with it from the end of January. Presumably, iOS 16.3 and the HomePod software will be available to everyone by evening on January 24, 2023.
The HomePod mini-updates are downloaded automatically by default. But to check if an update is already available for your HomePod mini, do the following:
- Open the app ‘Home’;
- Tap the button with the three dots at the top right;
- Choose ‘Home settings > Software update’;
- You will then see if an update is available for your accessories.
