Chevrolet Silverado EV shows glass roof

Chevrolet Silverado EV shows glass roof

Chevrolet gives us a look at the glass roof and thus also at the interior of the electric Chevrolet Silverado that is on the way. We also now know when that car will be unveiled.

The image first shows a fixed glass roof. The gigantic panel extends from the windshield to above the rear seat and is, according to GM, the largest glass roof in the segment. That does not seem too difficult, because the now well-known competitors usually have a panoramic roof that can be opened and therefore consists of two parts.

The Silverado EV, as Chevrolet also calls it, is not simply an electric version of the existing Silverado, as the F-150 Lightning is based on the well-known F-150. GM promises a fully EV-developed ‘truck’ that shares its Ultium technical base with the GMC Hummer EV. This also makes the interior probably unique. The shimmering screen still seems to have some similarities with that of a regular Silverado, but is larger and undoubtedly linked to a second copy behind the wheel. The layout of the center console is also slightly different, accompanied by a set of cup holders where the control lever of the machine can be found on the regular Silverado.

This image is not the first we see of the Silverado EV, because Chevrolet already showed a rear wheel and a type plate.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV will be unveiled January 5 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Chevrolet promises for the top version a driving range of more than 400 miles, almost 650 km. With that, the Silverado would in any case trump its main rival, the aforementioned F-150.
