YouTube stores the search and watch history of logged in users. Not nice? Clear the data and tell YouTube not to save the info.
Logged in users
YouTube offers the option to sign in with a Google account. This gives the user useful extras, such as creating playlists and preparing videos for later viewing. YouTube also keeps track of which videos someone searches and watches. In this way, the video platform can give the user better recommendations and people can also continue to look at where they left off at a later time. Not everyone likes this. For example, because they think that Google knows so much about them because of it. Don’t want YouTube to store data? Clear the search and watch history or prevent YouTube from saving the data.
If you use YouTube without logging in, you don’t have to worry about this. YouTube will then not keep a search and watch history.
