Did you take a photo on your iPhone, but do you want to cut it quickly? With the functions in the photos app it is so squeezed.
Cutting a photo on iPhone: you do it like this
Taking a photo on your iPhone happened in no time. But often you have to crop a photo a little to get the subject really beautiful. You can also immediately cut disturbing objects in the background.
The photos app (which can be found on every iPhone as standard and in which all your photos taken) has a few handy functions to edit your photos. One is to crop photos. To cut one of your own photos, follow the steps below.
Cutting a photo on iPhone with the app photos in iOS 18:
- Open the app photos on your iPhone;
- Tap the photo you want to crop;
- Tap the button at the bottom with the three horizontal stripes;
- At the bottom of the screen, tap the ‘Cut at’ button;
- Drag the corner points of the photo to the desired place to cut the photo shower;
- Tap ‘ready’ to save the photo.
If in step 5 you can only crop the photo with a fixed aspect ratio you can turn it off. You do that by tapping the button for the aspect ratio after step 4 (this is the third icon from the right, at the top right). Then choose ‘Freeform’. Then you continue with step 5.
This way you take even better (portrait) photos
Do you shoot photos with your iPhone more often? Then there are a few other functions that will definitely come in handy. This way you can take portrait photos where the background is made slightly blurry. This ensures that your subject comes ‘loose’ from the background and you get a professional looking photo.
