An iPhone that is empty at the end of the day? That is a past thanks to a new function. But not all iPhones get this new battery function.
These iPhones will not get the new battery function soon
From iOS 26, the iPhone has for the first time the ‘Adaptive Power’ function. This new setting automatically optimizes the energy consumption of your iPhone, so that the battery lasts longer on one load. This is done by subtle adjustments, such as the dimming of the screen or delaying certain processes.

iOS 26 is already running on an iPhone 11 series and newer, but unfortunately the Adaptive Power mode is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. That is because this function requires an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence. So there is a group of iPhones that do get iOS 26, but not the new battery function.
That means that the function becomes available on the following models:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 16th
And the iPhones between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 15 (Plus) do not get the new battery function.

Here you will find the new function in iOS 26
From iOS 26 you will find the battery function in a new menu in the battery settings of your iPhone. Apple has added a new part with the name ‘Start -up mode’. In this menu you will find, among other things, the Adaptive Power and Energy Saving mode settings. Keep in mind that the name Adaptive Power in the Netherlands and Belgium may be able to change later.
iOS 26 in short
This year Apple will no longer continue with the usual numbering of the operating system for the iPhone. Apple has therefore not presented iOS 19, but iOS 26. The same applies to watchOS, macOS, TVOS and Visionos.

There are many innovations in iOS 26, but one of the most striking is the new ‘Liquid Glass’ design. This makes it look like buttons, windows and more are made of glass.
Combine that with new AI functions, small but fine improvements in apps and a better battery life, and you get an update that makes your iPhone feel fresh again. Incidentally, all iPhones can update to iOS 26 from the iPhone 11 in September.
