Actor David Hasselhoff’s (Michael Knight) Pontiac Firebird, transformed into KITT, is up for auction. The car yielded enough, albeit less than it initially seemed.
David Hasselhoff, the actor who played Michael Knight on the hit TV series Knight Rider, has auctioned off his own copy of KITT. The extremely popular Firebird, who could talk in Knight Rider, could drive himself and had numerous other gadgets on board, has raised $ 300,000. Converted just under € 250,000. At the beginning of this month it was announced that Hasselhoff wanted to auction his own KITT and send part of the proceeds to charities affiliated with him.
The car in question has not been used in shooting, but it looks exactly as you would expect. The fact that it belonged to ‘The Hoff’ itself made it an interesting one for many collector’s item. Bids initially shot towards a million dollars, but there seemed to be quite a few fake bids that were removed again. Ultimately, the car yielded what Hasselhoff wanted for it. With an amount of at least 25 percent above that price, he would deliver it himself, but that does not seem to be happening now. It is not known who bought the car.
