The American Alpha Motors has never actually built a car, but it is throwing one vision after another of a new electric model into the world. Today, the brand is expanding its portfolio, which currently exists purely in digital form, with an electric station wagon. We are introduced to the Alpha Saga Estate.
Electric cars come in various forms, although the majority of EVs are currently hatchbacks, crossovers or SUVs. With the 5 Electric to be introduced in the Netherlands in 2022, MG will soon be the only car manufacturer to offer an electric station wagon. In these images you see an electric station wagon that will not change that at all.
Alpha Motor’s digital fleet
The electric station wagon that is now on the podium is in fact another digital creation of the American Alpha Motor Corporation, a company that is not exactly known for taking its cars into production at a rapid pace. In fact, despite introducing 9 (!) models in about a year, the company has not actually produced a single car yet. Still, the Saga Estate that Alpha Motor Corporation presents today is a fun one to dream away with. This also applies to previously shown models such as the Ace, Wolf and service-free derivatives.
Alpha Motor Saga Estate
Like the other creations of Alpha Motor Corporation, the Saga Estate is an electric model that wears a nice retro-futuristic jacket. The station version of the Saga presented in November this year has, purely on paper, an 85 kWh battery pack in its bottom, where the car should be able to travel about 420 kilometers. In 6.3 seconds, the 4.85 meter long station wagon weighing more than 2 tons should be able to sprint to a speed of 100 km/h. The luggage compartment has – again purely theoretical – a capacity of more than 990 liters. That’s quite a lot, even the current Mercedes-Benz E-class Estate kicks up to 640 liters without the rear seats folded down. Alpha Motors has also thought of those who would like an Outback or All Terrain-like electric variant. According to Alpha Motor Corporation, the Saga Estate has a steel frame with aluminum sheet metal parts attached.
Will this Saga Estate go into production? Who’s to say. Alpha Motor is a private company without major investors. The company does not yet have a production facility, although the brand does have the ambition to market its products worldwide. Alpha Motor Corporation also wants to focus on accessories. The company wants to offer things such as surfboards and kayaks, among other things. Alpha Motor Corporation can’t give us an indication yet of when it will ship its first models. Never say never.
