Shooting X6 and GLE Coupe

Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis has pulled the curtain on a new study model: the GV80 Coupé Concept. The name of that even quite production-ready-looking show car immediately indicates what you can expect: a GV80, but with a more sloping roofline.
The Genesis model range has grown in a relatively short time into an extensive range of models in various segments. The G70 is Genesis’ 3-series competitor, the G80 is the Korean extravagant equivalent of the 5-series and E-class and the G90 is that of the world’s 7-series and S-classes. There are of course also SUVs and crossovers: from the electric compact GV60 to BMW X3 and X5 competitors GV70 and GV80. With study models such as the Genesis X Convertible and the X Speedium Coupé, Genesis looked ahead to a chic convertible and coupé, but what it apparently wanted nothing to do with yet: an SUV with a steeper sloping roofline and therefore an opponent of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé.
The Genesis GV80 without Coupé addition.
Introducing the Genesis GV80 Coupé Concept, a production-ready preview of a new GV80 bodystyle. The ‘Coupé’ addition represents the roofline that slopes more strongly from the B-pillar, but there is more interesting about the study model. The GV80 Coupé Concept, for example, with its taillights made up of two horizontal lines, undoubtedly gives away the changes that await the existing GV80 with its upcoming facelift. The same applies to the lighting on the front. It again consists of two horizontal stripes, but is flatter than that of the well-known model.
But there’s more. Genesis apparently has ears for a sporty performancefashion model. The black grille, the black elements in the bumper and the design of the bumper point to this, as does the new three-spoke steering wheel, four separate bucket seats with print and visible reinforcement parts in the interior. We are curious.
