Genesis prepares electric study model

Genesis will show a new all-electric concept car later this week. A precursor to one of the many EVs that can be expected from the brand in the foreseeable future.

Hyundai recently unveiled the Ioniq 5 and Kia followed shortly after with the EV6. Now it is their luxury brother Genesis and it is expected that the ‘JW’ is the car that we will see first. However, Genesis is now sharing a teaser video in which we get to see an electrically powered concept car ahead of another EV. There will also be an electric GV70, but that does not seem to be the case. We see, especially at the rear, that in this case it is a sedan.

Genesis recently registered several notable model names, which show that there are electrical versions of various models in the barrel. It may therefore be a concept car that looks ahead to a new generation of one of Genesis’ sedans. At six years old, the G90 is the oldest of the current bunch and its successor is coming, this study model can be a prelude to that new G90. At the same time, we also notice some coupé-like elements and similarities with the 2018 Essentia Concept are unmissable. Enough reasons to be on the edge of our seats next Wednesday when the curtain comes off.
