Possibly bad news for the iPhone 14, but not for the new Apple Watch. This is the most important Apple and iPhone news from last week in one overview.
Will the iPhone 14 be delayed?
Normally September is the iPhone month, but maybe 2022 is an exception to the rule. According to a Chinese source, a major Apple phone manufacturer is failing to hire enough staff.
The reason? A new outbreak of COVID-19 and in around the factory. Due to the strict Chinese lockdown policy, it is almost impossible to meet the ever high demand for iPhones.

iPads and Macs are still poorly available for the time being
More bad news for Apple, because the worldwide chip shortage also keeps the company in its grip. Luca Maestri, the company’s financial chief, warned last week that iPads and Macs will remain in short supply for the foreseeable future.
Once again, new outbreaks of the coronavirus have an important role to play in this. Factories in China, where the lion’s share of Apple stuff is made, are therefore running at less capacity than usual.

Rumor: new Apple Watch SE will be more expensive
The first Apple Watch SE appeared in 2020 and turned out to be a direct hit for Apple. Logical too, because this watch was quite similar to the then brand new Apple Watch Series 6, but for a fraction of the price. It is therefore not surprising that a successor is on the way.
There is only one setback. According to a generally reliable source, the Apple Watch SE 2022, as it seems to be called, will be more expensive than the previous model. On the other hand, there would be a new design.

‘Apple Watch Series 8 can measure body temperature’
We will stay with the smart watches for a while, because last week information about the successor to the Apple Watch Series 7 also came out. With the Series 8 you could measure your body temperature.
This is useful, because your temperature reveals a lot of information about your health. Interestingly enough, the function seems to have been removed from the Series 7 at the last minute. It is rumored that Apple did not get the algorithm for the feature in time.
Can the new Apple Watch measure your temperature?
Many Dutch people have an old iPhone, research shows
Half of the iPhone users in the Netherlands have a device that is at least four years old. This is according to a study by Telecom paper† This means that most people don’t feel the need to upgrade to the latest model every two years.
In fact, more and more people are opting for a second-hand or refurbished model that is newer than their current smartphone, but older than the most recent Apple device.
