If you want to use an AirTag to keep an eye on your bike, it is important to hide the AirTag well. But unfortunately you don’t have that many options. Don’t worry, because there is now even a way to put an AirTag in the bicycle tire.
AirTag in your bike tire
An Apple AirTag is of course the solution to trace your bicycle. But then you face a problem: where do you place the tracker on your bike? Hanging an AirTag with a holder on the handlebar is of course not so wise. You could try hiding the AirTag under the saddle, but a smart thief will of course check that too.
No, there must be a better place for that. Muc-Off, an English maker of bicycle accessories, thought so too. He has now made a holder with which you can place an AirTag in a bicycle tire. There is one but, the Stealth Tubeless Tag Holder is made for a special kind of bicycle tire.
These ‘tubeless’ tires no longer need an inner tube and there is therefore sufficient space to place the AirTag in the bicycle tire. Tubeless tires are for sale at specialized bicycle shops and have the advantage that you can quickly seal a flat tire with a special anti-puncture agent. You also cycle more comfortably due to a lower tire pressure.
Do you have such a tubeless tire? Then the AirTag is held in place by the special valve. A rubber cap protects the AirTag on the inside. The Stealth Tubeless Tag Holder costs 19.99 euros† An AirTag is not included.
Tracking a bicycle: you do that with a bicycle bell
It is of course difficult if your bike does not have these special tubeless tires. You can’t just put an AirTag in your bicycle tire.
An easier solution is than the AirBell. This is a bicycle bell in which you can hide an AirTag. It is made for any bicycle handlebar with a diameter of 22mm. The AirBell is easy to install and costs 26.99 euros. You still have to buy an AirTag yourself.
