How to assign a personalized ringtone to your contacts on iPhone and Android?

Identifying the people who call you without having to look at your smartphone screen is quite possible. Whether you have an Android smartphone or an iPhone, there is an option in your device settings to configure a different ringtone depending on the caller.

By customizing the ringtone for your favorite contacts, you will be able to more easily identify the person calling you without having the screen in front of you or the device nearby, just by straining your ears a little.

Customize your contacts’ ringtone on iPhone

To customize a contact’s ringtone on iOS, open your address book via the Contacts application or from the Contacts tab of the Phone application and open your contact card.

Then press the Modify button, scroll down in the options of the contact card then, on the Ringtone line, press Default. The ringtone selection menu is displayed, choose a ringtone different from the one used by default for the other contacts and validate your choice by pressing the OK button.

Now, when this contact calls you, the ringtone that sounds will be different from other contacts in your address book.

To customize a contact’s ringtone on Android, open the Phone application, enter the contact card and press the options button represented by three small dots.

Press Set ringtone, select a ringtone for the contact and confirm your choice by pressing the Save button.

Repeat the operation as many times as necessary for all the contacts for which you want to have a specific ringtone.
