Do you like to listen to music before going to sleep? It can be useful to use sleep mode in Spotify. You no longer have to get out of bed to turn off the music: the streaming service will stop playing songs itself after a while. How does sleep mode work in Spotify and how do you enable it on your iPhone, iPad, and Android phone?

To enable sleep mode, open the Spotify app on your mobile device. Unfortunately, you will not find the function on the desktop version of the streaming service. Play a song in the app and tap the three horizontal dots at the top right of the screen. Scroll all the way down in this menu to select the Sleep timer to find.
below Stop audio about you can specify when the music should stop on its own. You can choose from 5, 10, 15 and 30 and 45 minutes. You can also stop the music after an hour or when the current song has finished.
Spotify timer
If you have chosen a time, you will receive the message Your sleep timer is set to see. The music will then stop automatically after the specified time.
If you want to turn off the timer before the music has stopped, you can tap the three horizontal dots again. At the bottom of the menu you can see how long it will take before the timer goes off. Tap the timer and choose the option Switch off timer or extend the time if necessary.
So make sure that the sleep mode does not work on a desktop, even if, for example, you stream to an audio system via a Chromecast Audio with your mobile. You will then receive the message Connect is not available when the sleep timer is active. Choose Disable Connect if you still want to enable sleep mode. The music will then automatically switch to your mobile device.
Do you not use Spotify, but Apple Music? Then you set the timer correctly via the Clock app on your iPhone. Select from the menu When Timer Ends for the option Stop playing to turn off music automatically after a certain time.
