The ink of the brochure of the all-new Hyundai i20 N is not yet dry when the Koreans are already launching a spectacular rally version of the compact hot hatch. We welcome: the i20 N Rally2.
The Hyundai i20 N is the latest addition to Hyundais N models. The compact hot hatch gets a 204 hp and 275 Nm strong variant of the 1.6 T-GDI from its creators as the power plant, which is always linked to a manual six-speed gearbox. Those who operate the gearbox skillfully must be able to chase the fun machine to a speed of 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds. Its top is 230 km / h. Hyundai now presents a version of the i20 N intended for private rally teams: the i20 N Rally2.
The i20 N Rally2 is of course based on the regular i20 N, but has been adapted in various areas. For example, Hyundai gives the i20 N a completely revised chassis and the manual six-speed gearbox makes way for a sequential five-speed gearbox that comes from the i20 R5 based on the previous generation i20. Hyundai takes every form of indulgence from the i20 N and gives the compact stunner, among other things, a roll cage and a set of race fairings with extensive seat belts to keep you decently in place while jumping, sliding and bouncing around. Hyundai has not released extensive technical specifications yet. Later this month, Hyundai will start an extensive testing program with the i20 N Rally2. The first copies should be delivered in the summer of next year.
