Although Hyundai is already doing well with its electric models, there are many more new EVs in the South Korean barrel in the near future. This new Concept Cabin provides an inside look at the electric Ioniqs that follow.
Where the Hyundai Kona and Ioniq Electric are now regular Hyundai’s, but with an electric motor, Hyundai will launch an entirely new sub-brand for its future EVs early next. A well-known name returns, because every electric Hyundai now belongs to the Ioniq family. The Ioniq 5 should start next year for this new road that Hyundai is taking.
After several concept cars that mainly focused on the exterior, it is now time for the Ioniq Concept Cabin. The brand thus shows what it is capable of with the inside. For the new outlook, Hyundai entered into a partnership with tech company LG Electronics. The Concept Cabin is mainly about the customer experience. The big eye-catcher is the 77-inch OLED screen that the designers mount in the ceiling. With that screen, two people can simultaneously display their own content. The sound is pumped through the speakers into the headrests.
In addition, a floor cleaning robot together with the overhauled UV-LED lamps ensures that the cabin remains clean and disinfected: always handy in these crazy times! Hyundai plans to offer such experiences – perhaps in slightly more ‘normal’ form – starting with Ioniq 5 to follow early next year. The 45 Concept was a precursor to this. So it promises to be a compact middle class. In any case, the Ioniq 6 and 7 will follow later. We are curious!
