iCloud is getting a lot more expensive (but not for everyone)

Apple has implemented a significant price increase. iCloud has therefore become a lot more expensive. But there is also good news!

iCloud is getting more expensive

If you have an iPhone, you probably also use iCloud. The cloud storage service ensures, among other things, a backup of your important files on your device and that you can view your photos on any device.

iCloud is getting a lot more expensive (but not for everyone)

There’s no question that it’s a useful feature, but Apple has made iCloud a lot more expensive. Apple has raised prices by 25 percent. But there is good news, because iCloud has only become more expensive in some countries.

For example, England, Poland and Sweden are on the list of the price increase. There is currently no price increase for the Netherlands (and Belgium). But that may soon change.

Pricing iCloud

We can understand a price increase, because the prices of iCloud have been fixed for a while (although Apple has already increased the storage once). But we do think that Apple should give the free version of iCloud a big boost. The amount of storage you get with that is really outdated.

iCloud 200GB storage

By default, you only get 5GB of free iCloud storage from Apple, but that’s not enough these days. Then you should quickly switch to the paid version. The cheapest, paid version of iCloud+ is 50 GB for EUR 0.99 per month. You also have 200 GB for 2.99 euros and 2 TB for 9.99 euros.

There is no intermediate step between 200 GB and 2 TB. You will suddenly pay a lot more. When Apple also implements the price increase in the Netherlands and makes iCloud more expensive, the most expensive variant will probably cost around 12.50 euros.
