Instagram has launched a new app! With edits, useful features come to your iPhone. You can do this with the new application.
Instagram launches Edits
There is a new application available for your iPhone! Instagram has rolled out the ‘Edits’ app for users around the world. Edits must make recording and editing videos on your iPhone much easier. With the application, Instagram competes with Tiktok (and Capcut). The release of Edits was planned at the beginning of this year, when Tiktok was temporarily blocked in the United States.
In response to this blockade, Instagram already announced the new app in January, but it is only now possible to install Edits via the App Store. You can download the application for free on your iPhone, the use of edits is also free of charge. That is a big difference with Capcut, the application to edit videos from the parent company behind Tiktok. At Capcut you have to pay to use all functions. Features of Edits
Instagram only offers limited possibilities for editing videos. With Edits you get these options, making it much easier to record videos and to edit immediately. Users can record videos of a maximum of ten minutes with the new app from Instagram. That happens in the highest quality, because you can record videos with a resolution of 1080p, 2K or 4K.
After recording (or uploading) the video, users get the option to edit the images. The possibilities in Edits are extensive. In the new app from Instagram you can add a green screen to your video, selecting animations generated by AI and putting popular audio under the images. This makes it easier for all users to edit (and possibly share) videos.

New app from Instagram available now
Other useful features from Edits are the removal of the background on a video and viewing the ratings if you have shared the images on Instagram. You can see exactly which part of the video has and has not done well, which can come in handy if you put videos on Instagram more often. With the new app, Instagram offers a good alternative to users who prefer not to opt for Capcut from Chinese Bytedance.
Edits is now available in the Netherlands and Belgium and can be used for free for everyone. You do have to log in with the account that you use on Instagram. You can then get started with editing existing videos, or recording new images. Pay attention to which videos you share, because Facebook and Instagram have indicated that they use more data for training artificial intelligence. Here we tell you how you prevent that.
