It is not very surprising that the update comes so quickly. Apple was told by France last September to stop selling the iPhone 12. French authorities had determined that the electromagnetic radiation from the iPhone 12 exceeded legal limits.
Tests conducted by French regulators revealed that the iPhone 12 had a radiation level of 5.74 watts per kilogram of body weight, significantly higher than the permitted 4 W/kg.
Apple responded quickly to the radiation problem by developing a software update that was included in iOS 17.1. This update is specifically intended to meet the requirements of the French testing protocol.
However, this adjustment may result in a slight decrease in mobile performance in situations where the mobile signal is weak.
