In iOS 18.3, one of the Calculator’s most useful features returns to the iPhone. This is going to change.
iOS 18.3: The Calculator’s best feature returns
With iOS 18, Apple has changed a number of things in the Calculator app. There are a few useful new features and even the iPad now has a real Calculator app.

Unfortunately, a function was also recently removed. And we have to be honest: secretly that was one of the functions that could be quite useful. This allowed you to repeat calculations every time.
For example, if you typed 3 x 3 into the calculator and pressed the equal sign, you would get the answer (9). If you then pressed the equals sign again, the answer 27 appeared. This is because the Calculator app then multiplied the answer again by (in this example) 3.
It was a useful feature if you had to make the same calculations regularly. But Apple removed this feature in iOS 18. It is not known whether Apple deliberately removed the feature. But the feature returns in iOS 18.3.
iOS 18.3: This is when you can install the update
You’ll have to wait a little longer, but iOS 18.3 is coming soon for everyone with iOS 18! Looking at previous years, we can expect the update sometime in late January. For example, iOS 17.3 was released on January 22 last year, iOS 16.3 in 2023 on January 23, and iOS 15.3 on January 26, 2022. So there is a good chance that we will also be able to download this new update around that time!
But before you get carried away: Apple Intelligence, the update that many people are waiting for, will unfortunately not yet be available with iOS 18.3 in the Netherlands and Belgium. You’ll have to be patient until April for that. This will likely come during the release of iOS 18.4.
