This year major changes are coming to the iPhone! In 2025, iOS 19 is the most important software update for the iPhone, where we see a completely new design according to rumors. Apple is working on a new interface for iOS, which would mean the biggest change in years. The last time than Apple the design was adjusted in 2013, when iOS 7 was released.
According to the generally reliable Apple connoisseur Mark Gurman, Apple makes major adjustments in the design of iOS 19. On June 9, Apple officially reveals the new design of iOS 19, because that day the WWDC 2025 starts. It is expected that iOS 19 takes over many elements of Visionos, the operating system on which the Apple Vision Pro is running. A video is now shared on YouTube, which paints a first picture of this new design:

The most important changes in the design of iOS 19 are the transparent frameworks, which we see with apps, buttons, keyboards and many more parts. These features are not yet transparent in iOS 18, but from iOS 19 that is the case. In addition, the corners of these components are risen than we now see in iOS 18. Similar elements can be found in Visionos, where frameworks also seem to have a glass background.
Apple’s new invitations app already has a design with rounded corners and transparent frames, but this design comes to almost all other applications with iOS 19. In the video, Jon Prosser states that Apple probably does not opt ​​for round symbols on the apps on the home screen. In Visionos that is the case, but there seems to be a good chance that Apple will hold on to the current square icons at iOS.
This is not (long) not everything
Almost all standard apps on your iPhone get with iOS 19 so a new design. According to Mark Gurman, the video of Prosser is not yet close to the new interface, because according to him Apple is planning much more. According to Gurman, the design shown in the video is based on older images and vague descriptions. The most important new features are still missing in the video.
So there are already major changes visible in the video, but that is only the beginning.
