Apple is planning to give iOS 19 a completely new design. However, some of these changes can already be seen in different apps.
iOS 19 gets completely new design (and you can already see that)
According to several rumors, Apple is planning to give iOS 19 of a big facelift. The last time Apple made a major adjustment was with iOS 7. The renewed design of iOS 19 is mainly inspired by Visionos (the operating system of the Vision Pro headset). You should think of more transparent elements with new windows and buttons.
Apple recently released several new apps, these include diary and invitations. These apps thereby secretly hint the new look of iOS 19.
If you have opened these apps, you may have noticed something. For example, the beam with the tabs (which you usually see at the bottom of the screen) has disappeared in these apps. Not only with new apps is this bar now gone, Apple is also in the case of existing apps to show the tabs the door. Perhaps you have already noticed the app photos, which nowadays actually consists of one long scrolling page.
The newest app that Apple has released is Apple Sports. This app is not available in the Netherlands, but with an American account you can already view the app. This app already shows a bit of how the design of the apps will change in iOS 19. Apple Sports has colorful backgrounds, transparent text blocks and floating frames.
Apple is expected to announce iOS 19 (with the new design) during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025. Apple probably organizes the event this year on 2 to 6 June or from 9 to 13 June. The final release will follow somewhere in September when the new iPhones are there.
