iOS 26.1 is the first major update since the release of iOS 26 and you can now install it immediately – these are all new features.

All the new features of iOS 26.1

iOS 26.1 has now been released more than a month after the launch of iOS 26. The update is compatible with the iPhone 11 series and newer, as well as the second generation iPhone SE. You can download and install the new software by going to ‘Settings > General > Software Update’. We list the new features of iOS 26.1 for you.

• Create images in different styles with Image Playground and Image Wand.
• Create your own emoji with Genmoji.
• Siri has undergone a number of improvements. You can now also link ChatGPT to Siri for more complicated questions.

• You now automatically receive substantive response suggestions in Mail and Messages.
• Summarizes in Mail, Messages, and Safari let you summarize messages, emails, and web pages.
• Notification summaries provides a more concise summary of the contents of a notification.
• Thanks to Priority notifications, you only see the notifications that are really important.
• With Live Translations in Messages, Phone, and FaceTime, you get real-time translations for conversations.
• You can now create Memories in the Photos app with a simple command.
• Search becomes easier with Natural Language Search for Photos.

• Thanks to Reminder suggestions and auto-categorization, you get suggested reminders that you can automatically categorize.
• A new focus mode looks at the content of notifications and determines whether they are allowed through or not.
• Poll Suggestions in Messages gives you suggestions to create a poll depending on the content of a message.
• Create your own wallpapers for the Messages app using AI.
