The iPad 2025 (€ 409) is a small upgrade compared to the iPad 2022. From the outside, both iPads even seem like two drops of water to each other. The adjustments are therefore mainly under the hood, but that is also a bit disappointing.

The biggest change is the new chip. Where the iPad 2022 still had to do with an A14 chip, the iPad 2025 received an A16 chip. This is almost the same chip as that in the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

(No) Apple Intelligence

But if you are a bit aware of Apple’s new functions for iOS, you know that Apple expects a lot from Apple Intelligence. This is Apple’s version of artificial intelligence (AI) on their devices.

Apple Intelligence is already available in a number of countries on iPhone 15 Pro or newer. However, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has no support for AI. That means that the iPad 2025 does not get this function either. That is a pity, but actually it is not so bad (at the moment).

Apple Intelligence is now not available in the Netherlands. Apple has indicated that the function can also be used here in April, but then you have to put the iPad (or iPhone) to English.

The full support for Apple Intelligence will probably only come somewhere in 2026 (or later). But probably not all functions are available. That will take a little longer.
