Camera

The cameras of the tablets hardly differ from each other. They are all 12MP cameras with an aperture of f/1.8. The Pro models also have a Lidar scanner for determining the depth and can record video in Prores.

Performance

The iPad Pro delivers significantly better performance thanks to the M4 chip and the slightly more powerful GPU. Moreover, you can choose 16 GB of memory if you go for 1 TB or 2 TB storage space. That does not mean that the iPad Air performs poorly, but with an M3 chip and 8 GB of memory, he simply does not keep track of the Pro. Both iPads are more than fast enough for home-garden-and-kitchen use.

Battery

If we look at the batteries of the iPads, we see both similarities and differences. The differences are in the capacity of the batteries, the similarities in the battery life. The Air models have batteries with a capacity of 7606 mAh and 9705 mAh respectively. According to Apple, these are good for a maximum of 10 hours of internet via WiFi or watching videos.

The PRO models contain batteries with a capacity of 8160 MAH (11-inch model) and 10290 MAH (13-inch model). For this, Apple also indicates that you can use the internet for a maximum of 10 hours via WiFi or view videos. For the battery life, in practice it does not matter which iPad you choose.

Praise

There is quite a difference in price, namely around 450 euros. Whether that difference is worth it is very personal. It mainly depends on what you are going to do with the iPad. If there are things that require a lot of computing power, then it may soon be that you better buy the iPad Pro. If not, then you probably have ample than the iPad Air.

conclusion

Conclusion: iPad Air vs iPad Pro

On the whole, the iPad Air is the best option for most users. This is mainly because this iPad is more powerful enough for what they do with it. It is not worth paying around 450 euros more for Face ID, audio with four speakers and a promotion OLED screen. Only professionals who need larger amounts of memory and storage space, and a Mat OLED screen really benefit from the purchase of an iPad Pro.
