iPados 26
This year iPados 26 is coming to the iPad! It is the biggest update in years, with a completely new interface and more features for multitasking. Apple not only brings more functions to the tablet, but also introduces a number of apps with iPados 26. These applications will come to the iPad in 2025!
1. Phone
Apple has more often brought apps from the iPhone to the iPad in recent years and that is no different in 2025. The telephone app finally comes to the tablet with iPados 26. In this application you see recent phone calls and you can start a new call. That happens via the iPhone, so your smartphone must be nearby. This way it is finally possible to call someone on the iPad.
2. Diary
With iOS 17, Apple brought the diary app to the iPhone. The iPad had to do it for years without this application, but iPados 26 changes that. After installing the update, the diary app is automatically on your tablet. In the app you can save and record texts, photos, videos and places. These notes can be found later, just like with a ‘real’ diary.
3. Preparation
With iPados 26, the preview app comes to the tablet for the first time. This application has been available on the Mac (book) for years, but is being extended to the iPad and to the iPhone. With preview you get direct access to all PDF documents and images in the files app. With the Apple Pencil you can easily edit and fill in files, so that you no longer have to print documents.
4. Games
There are different iPhone and Mac apps to the iPad with iPados 26, but Apple also releases a completely new application. The Games app gives an overview of the most popular games of the moment. You can also see which games you have played (recently) and for which apps an update is available. You also see which games are played by your contacts, which seems to be a replacement for Game Center.

Apple has already announced iPados 26, but the update will only be released for all users in September.
