iPad Pro 2024 gets new housing with MagSafe (but there is a disadvantage)

According to rumors, the iPad Pro will finally receive support for MagSafe next year, but that has a major disadvantage. We’ll tell you what that is!

iPad Pro gets MagSafe

Expectations are high for next year’s iPads, as no fewer than four different iPads are expected. This year, Apple did not release any new iPads at all, so it is expected that a new generation of all models will be released next year. We will also see a new iPad Pro in 2024, which will reportedly have support for MagSafe.

MagSafe is Apple’s technology for wireless device charging. A magnet is also used, with which you can now easily attach the iPhone to MagSafe standards. We have been seeing MagSafe in Apple phones since the iPhone 12, but the iPad has had to make do without the technology until now. This will reportedly change with the iPad Pro 2024.

With one major disadvantage

According to new rumors, MagSafe will come to the iPad Pro in 2024. This means that you can finally charge the tablet wirelessly and attach it to suitable MagSafe stands. In that case, it is also quite possible that the Standby mode of iOS 17 will come to iPadOS 18 next year. The tablet then becomes a central point of the house with a large digital clock on the screen.

Unfortunately, MagSafe on the iPad also has a disadvantage, because the housing of the tablet needs to be adjusted. Wireless charging is only possible with a glass back, while the current iPad Pro is made of different materials. The tablet will probably have a glass back in 2024 and will therefore break a lot faster. From next year we must therefore be (even) more careful with the iPad.

iPad Pro

This is when the iPad Pro comes

The iPad Pro will probably have support for MagSafe next year, but the iPad Air, iPad mini and ‘normal’ iPad will still have to make do without the technology. It’s unclear whether Apple plans to bring MagSafe to the other models, or whether it will remain an exclusive feature for the iPad Pro.

In any case, we don’t have to wait long for the iPads, because they will be released in early 2024. According to the usually reliable Apple analyst, the iPads are scheduled for March 2024. This means that the iPad Pro with MagSafe is about to appear, but that all other iPads will receive an update soon. So just be patient, because we can soon expect a series of new iPads!
