When we look at the housing of the devices, we immediately see major differences in dimensions and weight. Screen

These differences in size naturally also apply to the screens and the associated screen resolutions. The 11-inch version of the iPad Pro 2025 has a resolution of 2420 x 1668 pixels, the 13-inch version 2752 x 2064 pixels. The MacBook Pro 2025 14.2-inch has a screen resolution of 3024 x 1964 pixels.

All screens are equipped with ProMotion and have a brightness of 1000 nits. For the iPad Pro models with 1 TB or 2 TB of storage space, you can opt for display glass with nano-texture, which makes the screen less reflective. Another difference is of course that the iPad Pro screens are touchscreens and the MacBook Pro screen is not. If you want a touchscreen, then choose the iPad.

Camera

This is of course not such an exciting part with iPads and MacBooks. The most important thing is that the camera is good enough for video calling and that is the case with all devices. The MacBook Pro 2025 has a 12MP Center Stage camera, the iPad Pro 2025 has a 12MP front camera (ultra wide angle) with facial recognition. The iPads also have a 12MP wide-angle camera with LiDAR scanner on the back.

The cameras are probably not a reason to choose the iPad Pro or the MacBook Pro. If you want a camera on the back, then you will end up with the iPad Pro.

Performance

All devices in this comparison run on the M5 chip and are undoubtedly lightning fast. If you choose the iPad Pro 2025, you can choose from 12 GB of RAM (with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage space) or 16 GB of RAM (with 1 TB or 2 TB of storage space). Of course, both the iPad Pro 2025 and the MacBook Pro 2025 support it Apple Intelligence.

If you choose the MacBook Pro 2025, you will get at least 16 GB of RAM. If you want more, you can choose 24 GB or 32 GB of RAM. You also have the option to choose 4 TB of storage space. That is not possible with the iPads. For example, if you do a lot of video editing, you need both a lot of storage space and a lot of RAM. In that case, the MacBook Pro 2025 is a better choice.

Battery

The 11-inch version of the iPad Pro 2025 has a battery with a capacity of 8160 mAh, the 13-inch version has a battery with a capacity of 10290 mAh. Both versions have a battery life of about 10 hours, which is sufficient for most people.

It is unclear what the capacity of the MacBook Pro 2025 battery is, but the battery life varies from 16 to 24 hours, depending on what you do with it. If you need a long battery life for whatever reason, it is better to choose the MacBook.

Conclusion: iPad Pro 2025 vs MacBook Pro 2025

You cannot really make a wrong choice in this case. What is the best choice for you mainly depends on what you are going to do with it. If you often take the device with you, the iPad Pro may be more convenient due to its smaller dimensions and lower weight. Provided that the battery life of about 10 hours is sufficient for you, of course. In principle, it will be cheaper, but keep in mind that you may have to buy a Magic Keyboard (for 399 euros).

If you are going to perform a lot of heavy tasks such as video editing, then more RAM and storage space is not an unnecessary luxury, so it is better to choose the MacBook Pro 2025. You will spend a little more money, but in principle you don’t have to buy anything more. Of course you have to do it without a touchscreen.
