iPados 26
Apple already announced iPados 26 last June during the WWDC. Now the new operating system is finally available to the general public. You can immediately install iPasos 26. To do this, open the Settings app, go to General and tap Software update.
Liquid Glass
With iPados 26, Apple gives your iPad a completely renewed look. The design looks fresh and modern, with transparent elements and subtle shadows. All parts now seem of glass: buttons, beams and controllers. Apple calls the design ‘Liquid Glass’. It reflects the colors of the surrounding content and automatically adapts to light and dark modes. Apps such as camera, photos, safari, facetime, Apple Music, Apple News and Apple podcasts have also received the new design.
New functions for apps
Apple is also expanding a number of well -known apps in iPados with new functions. For example, the camera app has been given a new design, making functions clearer and easier to find. The photos app has also been expanded with new features. The photo overview now has tabs and all controls and other parts have been given the new Liquid Glass. In addition, the telephone app now also comes to the iPad and both the messages and the telephone app have been expanded with new functions.
Furthermore, the files app has been renewed. The app has a clearer home screen and you can now provide folders with colors and icons. New is the preview app, with which you can quickly make a sketch or view PDFs and images, edit and mark. Also new is background tasks. With that you can have a video rendered, for example, while in the meantime you use another app.
Apple Intelligence
With iPados 26 you are also fully prepared for the arrival of Apple Intelligence. According to the last rumors, AI will become available somewhere in December in December. Whether that is actually the case remains to be seen. There is always a risk that it will be postponed again and will only become available in 2026.
